About the Position: Receives general supervision from the assigned program director or Department Chief who allows the incumbent freedom
of action as an independent professional in dealing with assigned caseload. Incumbent is expected to make decisions and recommendations
with a minimum of supervisory guidance.
This is a Direct Hire Solicitation

Duties
Collect bio-psycho-social information about patients using interview, case history, and observation techniques and assessment methods.
Analyze information collected to determine diagnosis, treatment plan and/or advisability of counseling or referral to other specialists or institutions.
Provide individual, family, and group clinical counseling services to identify and manage personal, psychological and interactive problems associated with occupation and personal adjustment.
Develop individual treatment plans based on psychiatric diagnosis, identified problems, and treatment needs for each case.
Evaluate treatment effectiveness and make adjustments to patient's treatment plans as appropriate.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position has been designated “Mission Essential”.
- This position is required to work uncommon tours of duty hours such as, on-call, working either fixed or rotating shifts, evenings, weekends and/or holidays.
- This position has a TDY or business travel requirement of 5% of the time to various locations. This may require travel on military aircraft, ships, and vehicles.
- Required to be screened for and obtain necessary immunizations/vaccinations (hepatitis, influenza, etc.), unless exempted by a licensed physician.
- This position requires credentialing. Applicants tentatively selected for this position will be required to meet credentialing requirements.
- Position requires a current, active, full, and unrestricted national license as a Clinical Social Worker.
- Required to lift up to 30 lbs. in the regular performance of duties. Pre-employment physical required and annually thereafter.
- This position requires that you obtain and maintain a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from, or in accordance with, the American Heart Association and American Red Cross. Advanced certification (e.g., ALS) does not supersede BLS.
- This position has mandatory seasonal Influenza vaccination requirements and is subject to annual seasonal Influenza vaccinations unless otherwise exempted for medical or religious reasons (documentation of exemption must be provided upon hire).
- In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations (natural or man-made disaster) the incumbent may be required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.

Basic Requirements for Social Worker (Clinical):
Degree: Master's degree (or higher degree) in Social Work from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. (You MUST submit
a copy of your transcript with your application package or you will be rated ineligible.)
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
Experience required: To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job.
Specialized experience is defined as: conducting biopsychosocial assessments, evaluations, and recommendations on patients; developing, implementing, and monitoring behavioral health treatment plans. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
Licensure: This position requires a current, active, valid, unrestricted clinical license to practice Social Work independently, offered by a U.S. State, District of Columbia, commonwealth, territory or jurisdiction.
Education
FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
