About the Position:
Fort Gordon is in Augusta, Georgia, home of the Cyber Center of Excellence (CCoE) and future headquarters of ARMY CYBER COMMAND (ARCYBER). It is approximately 142 miles east of Atlanta, 80 miles southwest of Columbia, South Carolina and 122 miles northwest of Savannah, Georgia. Ft Gordon's location offers close proximity to a metropolitan area and is an easy drive from Atlanta, Savannah, the beaches along the Atlantic Ocean and the mountains.
Duties
Develop installation procedures that outline the responsibilities for execution of the Family Advocacy Program.
Direct administrative Family Advocacy Program and other social services which support a large military installation.
Supervise, assign, and review work to be accomplished by subordinates.
Provide education on a variety of topics to alleviate conditions that cause or exacerbate family violence.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position has specific initial background investigation and periodic re-verification requirements since its duties require interaction with children and youth under the age of eighteen (18) years of age on a recurring basis.
- This position may require the incumbent to work after hours on-call at the military treatment facility emergency room.
- This position requires a current and valid State Driver's License.

Basic Requirement:
Master's degree (or higher degree) in social work from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. Note: (You must include a copy of your transcripts)
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
Specialized experience:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service which includes experience in a family advocacy environment, assessing incidents of family abuse and neglect; and experience assessing and treating families dealing with the effects of family violence or neglect incidents.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).

Education
