This position is located at Departmental Offices,Terrorism and Financial Intelligence, Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), Sanctions Support Division. As an IT Specialist, you will perform, support, and manage the core Treasury Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes necessary to support all OFAC Business Units. The incumbent will be responsible for efficiently troubleshooting system problems, procedural problems, and data integrity problems.

Duties

As an IT Specialist, you will: Assist in the endeavors undertaken as a part of OFAC's website modernization and simultaneously develop automated solutions to ad hoc system problems, business process and policy changes, and ever evolving (as US foreign policy shifts) management directives. Examine existing workflow procedures, assist in the creation of new or improved website systems or applications, and assist senior officers and analysts throughout OFAC in the optimum use of existing web systems and applications. Plan upgrades and new components of the OFAC website systems and supervise their installation and testing. Monitor data consistency and integrity. Represent OFAC as a coordinator and liaison to counterparts in other agencies concerning sharing and manipulation of data. Provide expert advice, information, and research in supporting OFAC's public-facing systems.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: For the GS-13, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes: Experience resolving technical issues, communicating project details, and providing guidance in areas such as website and content management, website, web page and web applications development; AND Participating on project design and technical teams to adapt, and implement applications development methods and models incorporating new technologies. Examples of such experience could include: Experience building user interfaces for websites, defining system requirements, identifying tools and producing analytics. Designing, evaluating, developing, testing, debugging and maintaining websites. The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. In addition to specialized experience, individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. Oral Communication: Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. Problem Solving: Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
