This position is located at Departmental Offices, Management Chief Financial Officer. As a Supervisory IT Specialist (INFOSEC), you will serve as the Departmental Offices Chief Information Security Officer (DO CISO) to the Departmental Offices Chief Information Officer (DO CIO) in the Deputy Assistant Secretary and Chief Information Officer organization.

Duties

As a Supervisory IT Specialist (INFOSEC), you will: - Provide guidance and leadership to support and implement a disciplined cyber security management strategy which focuses on managing risk and optimizing cost-effectiveness for the IT infrastructure of DO. - Serve as the DO CIO's representative on a wide variety of interagency IT committees, working groups, and or special task forces relative to security and infrastructure operations. - Develop strategies and coordinate implementation activities among the DO CIO organization. - Lead the analysis and reporting of data from a variety of sources to produce open-source intelligence reports, incident briefs on various cyber criminal activities and threat assessments.

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement. Specialized Experience for the GS-15: Specialized experience is fifty-two (52) weeks of experience at the GS-14 level or equivalent in other public or private sectors, that is directly related to the position as listed in this announcement and which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience includes the following: - Demonstrating experience providing technical expertise in the area of cybersecurity; AND - Developing, defining, managing, and documenting cybersecurity projects; AND - Using project management tools and skills to develop and manage in-depth cybersecurity projects plans; AND - Applying Federal information systems security protocols to integrate information systems security with other security disciplines; AND - Developing, implementing, and interpreting metrics for the evaluation of cybersecurity program effectiveness and efficiency; AND - Demonstrating experience managing crisis events and balancing conflicting needs of various stakeholders; AND - Demonstrating experience providing solutions and problem resolution to customers. The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. In addition to specialized experience, individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. Oral Communication: Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. Problem Solving: Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
