About the Position: This is a Training Systems Management Specialist position located at the Army Training Support Center (ATSC), Fort Eustis, VA.
This position is eligible for regular and recurring telework - as determined by the agency policy.
Duties
Provides analytical research and subject matter expertise for requirements actions affecting training support systems and presents recommendations in line with organization strategies and plans.
Participates in the development and/or review of training and training support plans, strategies, and concepts based on analysis of modernization and emerging technology trends.
Reviews Materiel Requirements Documents (MRD) to provide advice and policy guidance on training support systems.
Conducts research and analysis to provide input related to training support requirements in capabilities assessments, generates courses of action, and recommends prioritization criteria for potential training support solutions / approaches.
Represents the organization on committees, task forces, working groups, and study groups related to training support systems and capability developments.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- SECRET CLEARANCE: Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.
- Temporary Duty Travel (TDY): Incumbent may be required to travel up to 25%.
- CP32 Certification: Incumbent must complete Career Program 32 Level I Certification within 24 months.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) assisting in the development and review of upcoming
training support coordination; 2) developing correspondence, such as information papers and executive summaries on training support actions and programs; AND 3) conducting research and analysis in order to provide input on the mitigation of training gaps and lapses. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
NOTE: Applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade and specialized experience requirements within thirty (30) days after the closing date of the announcement.
