About the Position: Serves as Chief supervisor over two subordinate units, the Conventional Munition Maintenance and the Demil Branch at the Tooele Army Depot. Plans, coordinates, and directs a variety of related work operations or functions through one or more layers of supervision and groups or work shifts.

Duties

Participates in process improvement events and encourages team members to provide technical information and innovative ideas for projects. Monitors and reports on the status and progress of work. Establishes a good working climate to encourage employees to participate in achieving management goals, and to promote efficient and economical work operations. Assigns and explains work requirements to subordinate levels of supervision and sets deadlines and sequence of operations. Assures that subordinate supervisors effectively carry out policies to achieve management objectives in such areas as labor-management relations and equal employment opportunity. Assures that appropriate production reports and administrative records are maintained.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET Security Clearance.
  • Subject to be cleared in accordance with (IAW) AR 190-11, Physical Security of Arms, Ammunition, and Explosives (AA and E).
  • Must meet the requirements of AMCR 350-4, Training and Certification Program for Personnel Working in Ammunition Operations.
  • One-year supervisory probationary period may be required.
  • Position subject to drug testing in accordance with (IAW) AR 600-85.
  • Position is covered by the 1996 Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968. Persons convicted of a misdemeanor or felony crime of domestic violence are not eligible for the position.

Ability to Interpret Instructions, Specifications, etc. (Other Than Blueprint Reading)Ability to Lead or SuperviseDexterity and SafetyKnowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation, and Repair, etc.Knowledge of MaterialsTechnical Practices (Theoretical, Precise, Artistic)Use of Measuring Instruments Physical Effort: Moderate lifting/carrying between 15-44 pounds may be required. Working Conditions: Required to work both inside and outside, around machinery, and exposed to fumes, smoke, and gases.
