You will serve as a ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER the NCIS Worldwide of NCIS. All Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) positions are in the excepted service. This position is in the excepted service and does not confer competitive status.

Duties

Evaluate program regulations and procedures (e.g., physical security, space management, travel system, commercial purchase card) for regulation compliance. Develop plans and objectives to administer budget, procurement processes, or manpower. Develop operational strategies for document and records management. Review completed staff actions (letters, memos, reports, studies, factsheets, information papers) for quality, consistency, and compliance. Develop statistical reports to brief management on budget program status. Write budget justification statements to validate funding requests for an organization.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

GS-13: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: planning, managing and executing office budget and acquisitions; performing long-range planning in the areas of manpower, supplies, and equipment; managing investigative and administrative case files; and managing a government purchase card program. GS-12: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: managing and executing an office budget; managing facilities maintenance; making recommendations in manpower levels; and using government purchase card for the procurement of equipment and supplies.
