About the Position: The purpose of this position is to perform clerical and technical work supporting one or more military personnel programs, operations or functions. Functional areas include but are not limited to Enlisted Personnel Manning, Contingency/Mobilization Operations Support, Installation Casualty Services.
Duties
Analyzes military personnel assignments, reviews projected fill, develops manning targets, recommends personnel assignments, and approves submission of requisitions.
Utilize automated personnel systems supporting military personnel functions and operations, including IPPS-A used to manage service members both locally and service wide.
Perform a variety of duties in support of the organization's programs, functions, and projects.
Function as the primary source of guidance and assistance on military personnel matters, including application of rules, regulations, and procedures.
Research and implement regulatory guidance and procedures for processing Promotions, personnel actions, and military personnel file updates.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- A one year probationary period may be required.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes providing customer service and processing military promotions, actions, assignments and orders; maintaining personnel records and/or actions to ensure changes reflect in supporting systems; and utilizing automated personnel software/systems supporting personnel functions and operations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05).
