Duties

Manages, plans, and directs the daily operations of a golf course facility to include golf course maintenance. Represents the activity at conferences, to special interest groups and other agencies. Formulates instructions and directives necessary to operate a fluid, profit generating business activity with a fluctuating customer base. Prepares financial and operational briefings as required. Coordinates functions with community, and military representatives. As a second level supervisor reviews the actions of subordinate supervisors including other PGA Professionals. Responsible for all food and beverage operations. Conducts management review of patron programs to identify problems and initiate appropriate corrective measures. Evaluates the success of programs in terms of profitability, customer satisfaction and mission accomplishment. Reviews financial reports, estimates projected costs, develops activity financial plan and operating budgets to include Capital Purchase and Minor Construction. Makes necessary labor and expense execution adjustment to maintain profitability. Monitors the procurement of all supplies, equipment, and retail items. Ensures that retail operation is conducted with appropriate inventory levels to generate budgeted sales at budgeted COGS expenses. Provides and maintains teaching program for patronage at the individual and group levels, to include personal lesson participation. Ensuring all employees are provided required training and managing performance standards to execute the mission. Leads a team of subordinate supervisors and staff to a successful and profitable operation utilizing a structured plan of departmental and staff communication methods.

Requirements

  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2 to include a Tier 1 background investigation.
  • Must be a PGA member class “A” in good standing.
  • Must be able to work during the hours of operation.
  • A one year probationary period may be required as well as any additional required for position.
  • This position requires you to submit a Public Financial Disclosure Report (OGE 278e) or a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE 450) upon entry, and annual thereafter.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: The membership, experience OR combination of education/experience must be reflected on your resume and your degree/transcript uploaded at the time of application to be considered eligible for this position. Minimum of two years experience managing or directing the activities of a golf course. Must be a PGA member class "A" in good standing. * A 4 year college degree in a business related field may be substituted for 1 year of experience. Highly Preferred Qualifications: Highly Preferred are applicants who possess the minimum qualifications above AND: Demonstrated experience using technology solutions to execute managerial functions including: Web based Time and Labor Management System, Point of Sale System and Inventory Management System, GolfNow, Electronic Budgeting, Purchasing and Contracting Systems, and Microsoft Outlook. Demonstrated rounds played and tournament sales increase.
