About the Position: The incumbent will serve as the senior Cyber Security Strategic Planner, overseeing cyberspace activities and operations planning at HQ SDDC to achieve the Commander's goals.

Duties

Lead cyberspace activities by planning and executing both deliberate and crisis action operations to achieve HQ SDDC objectives. Develop and implement operational procedures for cyber effects and cybersecurity, ensuring alignment with DoD, USTRANSCOM, and Army policies. Assess emerging cyber threats continuously and provide technical direction to counter threats, defend networks, and secure infrastructure. Author and integrate cyber artifacts into existing policies and procedures to maintain operational effectiveness. Prepare detailed planning products such as Course of Action briefings and mission analyses to advise leadership on operational requirements. Monitor and track ongoing cyber threats against Army networks to support Cyber Protection Teams in responding to breaches and incidents. Prepare and deliver high-quality reports and presentations on significant issues and operational impacts to senior leadership. Develop and publish cybersecurity policies and standards in accordance with DoD and Army regulations. Manage a comprehensive cyber program to research, report, and resolve cyber issues, enhancing customer satisfaction and operational performance.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This is a Critical Sensitive position requiring the incumbent to obtain and retain a TOP SECRET clearance based on a Tier 5 (T5) investigation with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
  • This is a Drug Testing Position. Position requires that employee pass screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and subsequent periodic drug screening thereafter.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 15% of the time.
  • All DoD IA workforce personnel must obtain/maintain required certifications per DoD 8570.01-M within 6 months, unless waived. Certifications must remain active; expired ones must be renewed according to provider and DoD 8570.01-M guidelines.
  • All Information Assurance Management (IAM) personnel must be certified for their position’s Information Assurance functions at Level II within six months of assignment.
  • Level II Information Assurance Management personnel are responsible for the Information Assurance program of a system within the Network Environment, ensuring security and functionality.
  • Information Assurance Management (IAM) Level II personnel must perform security tasks, maintain IA programs, and demonstrate IAM Level I proficiency. IAM Level II certification is required for continued employment.
  • This position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.
