Serves as an IT Specialist on the Electronic Services Delivery (ESD) team, Office of Disability, with continuing responsibility for projects pertaining to the development, implementation and evaluation of electronic and information systems technologies, in both the Internet and Intranet environments.
Duties
Serves as web master and manages a public Internet site, including design of web site content and applications, and updates and creates new web content, pages, applications, and graphics dealing with issues such as application for benefits,
(CONT) post-entitlement and reporting events, electronic forms, etc. Ensures that program content is updated, current and accurately reflects changes in the disability program and administrative policy.
Designs web-based program services that adhere to current web publishing standards for language use, reading level, writing style, graphics, layout, and navigation.
Develops web products that are accessible to people with disabilities and ensures maximum usability through compliance with Section 508 of the
(CONT) Rehabilitation Act (and related legislation) accessibility requirements and testing of products before implementation.
Assists in developing strategy for Internet-based software design and development to support program areas assigned.
Assists in the development of statements of work and task orders for system design, development, testing, validation and implementation activities.
(CONT) Oversees contractor activities and determines acceptability of contractor deliverables and work products.
Represents OD in meetings, discussions, working groups, and negotiations with other SSA components, other governmental organizations, public advocacy groups, and representatives of private and public institutions.
Responds orally and in writing to questions concerning electronic and information systems technologies and electronic service delivery.
Supports a team environment by following established guidelines and practices and contributing to team efforts.

Qualifications
Applicants must qualify for the series and grade of the posted position. Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate.

To qualify for the 2210 IT Specialist series, applicants must demonstrate the following competencies:

In addition, applicants must possess and demonstrate 52 weeks of specialized experience at, or equivalent to, the GS-11 level (or above) in the federal service that is in or related to the work of the position filled and has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. The specialized experience required is: Experience processing, obtaining, or sharing medical records or medical evidence using an Electronic Health Records system (EHR) or other health IT system in order to provide disability benefits.
