This position is in the Systems and Operations Safety Office located within the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command Armaments Center which serves as the Army's technology leader for armament systems. DEVCOM AC ensures dominance of Army capabilities by researching, developing, integrating and delivering technology-enabled armament solutions to our Warfighters. Armaments Center has a long tradition as the primary research and development center for new and existing armament systems.
Duties
Analyze the findings of safety inspections for program compliance to maintain safety standards for the organization
Implement the Safety and Occupational Health Program to ensure compliance for the organization
Provide direction, policy and guidance in the application of safety standards to maintain organizational safety compliance
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- You must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- Business travel is required up to 10%.
- Moving expenses are not authorized for this position.
- Three-year trial/probationary period may be required.

Specialized experience is defined as performing ALL of the following duties:
1) Experience implementing and advising on Safety and Occupational Health (S&OH) programs, policies, regulation and evaluating standing operating procedures in accordance with all statutory and regulatory requirements; 2) Experience performing accident investigation, accident prevention, advising and consulting on accident trends, and providing safety training; and 3) Experience performing staff assistance visits/compliance inspections, abatement plans, providing results and developing process improvement plans to improve the safety of personnel, working environments, and facilities. 4) Experience in managing requirements and implementation of Army Safety and Occupational Health Management System (ASOHMS) and utilizing ASMIS 2.0 Mishap, Investigation and Hazard Log modules.
