You will serve as a Human Resources Specialist (Classification) in NAVMEDSUP DET SAN DIEGO.
Positions may be filled at the following locations: Jacksonville, FL, Pensacola, FL, Jacksonville, NC, Falls Church, VA, or Portsmouth, VA
**This is a local remote approved position. Selectee must be located within the commute area of the announced locations.**
Duties
You will classify and prepare classification evaluations for GS and FWS positions.
You will provide advice to Human Resources Office (HRO) staff and command managers and supervisors with respect to position management issues, classification principles, and writing position descriptions.
You will review proposed changes that affect organizations and position design.
You will provide training to command managers and supervisors on topics such as classification principles, position management principles and standard operating procedures for Classification requests.
Requirements

- This position is eligible for part time, substantial or ad-hoc telework at the discretion of management.
- This position is a local remote approved position. Selectee must be located within the commute area of the command upon entry to duty.

- A relocation incentive is generally a single payment intended to offset some of the relocation costs experienced by the selectee. A relocation incentive may be authorized.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
For GS-09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector:
Utilizing U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Position Classification and Position Management Principles to classify common General Schedule positions.
Assisting with support activities related to position classification such as conducting consistency reviews.
Gathering and analyzing facts and draw conclusions from information.
Communicating information clearly, orally and in writing to managers.
For GS-07: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector:
Utilizing OPM Position Classification Standards and Policies to perform work that involves fundamentals of Human Resources classification principles, policies, practices, methods, and analytical techniques.
Gathering and analyzing facts and draw conclusions from information.
Communicating information clearly, orally and in writing.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
For GS-09:
Master's or equivalent graduate degree
or
2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
or
LL.B. or J.D., if related
For GS-07:
1 full year of graduate level education
or
superior academic achievement
