The primary purpose of this position is: To exercise second level supervisory and managerial authorities in the 97th Maintenance Directorate, 97th Air Mobility Wing, Maintenance Operations Flight, and to serve as the senior production controller and subject matter expert.
Duties
Plans, organizes, and oversees the activities of the Maintenance Operations Flight.
Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities.
Represents the Maintenance Operations Flight with a variety of installation and functional area organizations.
Manages multiple-shop operations for actual production control operations.

- Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft
- This is a “Key” position. Incumbent must be removed from their military recall status if alternatives for filling the position during an emergency are not available
- May be required to work weekends, overtime, holidays, evenings, emergency callback, etc
- Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET clearance
Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE FOR CURRENT FEDERAL EMPLOYEES: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-09, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes knowledge of the production organization, to include all departments being coordinated both internal and external, and all requirements for the assigned aircraft, to include the organizations required for all production methods and procedures; knowledge and skill of the aircraft production work processes, facilities, methods, equipment, and manning requirements to perform production control functions and to evaluate and recommend solutions to problem areas within the Maintenance Operations Flight.

FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. Federal employees one year at the GS-09 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-11 level. Non-federal employees one year at the GS-10 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-11 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge of the production organization, to include all departments being coordinated both internal and external, and all requirements for the assigned aircraft, to include the organizations required for all production methods and procedures.
Knowledge and skill of the aircraft production work processes, facilities, methods, equipment, and manning requirements to perform production control functions and to evaluate and recommend solutions to problem areas within the Maintenance Operations Flight.
Ability to interpret manufacturing terminology, aircraft production data, Air Force Instructions, and to relate them properly to the particular production control areas required through subordinate supervisors.
Ability to investigate, analyze, plan, and adjust work operations within the Maintenance Operations flight to meet program requirements and objectives within available resources.
Ability to communicate both orally and in writing.
Skill and ability to plan, schedule, and take corrective action to meet planned and unplanned workloads, maintaining production schedules, and preventing or alleviating delays in the mission.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
