THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a BASE SERVICES SPECIALIST (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D2241000 and is part of the IL 183 WG, National Guard.
Duties
As a BASE SERVICES SPECIALIST (TITLE 32), GS-0301-7/9, you will analyze and coordinate Base Services functions in support of federal, state, and local missions.
Major Duties - This is NOT an all-inclusive list:
Monitor, evaluate, or record training activities or program effectiveness.
Plan, administer, and control budgets for contracts, equipment, and supplies.
Identify budgetary requirements and conduct market research to prepare purchase requests in advance of execution.
Independently research regulations and policies to resolve questions and effectively accomplish tasks.
Address and resolve customer issues and complaints.
Scrutinize invoices for accuracy and correct discrepancies prior to payment.
Facilitate required inspections with Contracting, Fire Department, Public Health, and other necessary representatives.
Maintain professional military communications, both written and verbal, at all organizational levels, utilizing diverse platforms.
Serve or provide assistance with the Mortuary Affairs Program.
Provide documentation of relevant sustainment statistics for inclusion in associated reports.
Analyze data to develop subsistence requisition reports and schedule to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
Prepare and review operational reports and schedules to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
Perform quality assurance and quality control measures to include external and internal audit activities.
Qualifications
AREA OF CONSIDERATION: The areas of consideration for this position, Title 32 Excepted Service (32 U.S. Code § 709), will be in the following manner and sequence:
The FIRST area of consideration for this position will be all excepted permanent and indefinite temporary technicians within the ILNG.
The SECOND area of consideration will be all current Federal Employees.
The THIRD area of consideration will be all Federal re-employment eligible.
The FOURTH area of consideration will be applicants willing to become T32 Dual Status Technicians and gain ILNG membership.
The FIFTH area of consideration will U.S. Citizens.
Military Grades: Enlisted, not to exceed rank of TSgt.
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: MUST possess the experience, education or training which provided a general knowledge of principles of organization, management, and administration; compiling reports, letters, memoranda, etc., and required person-to-person contacts to convey information; progressively responsible experience which demonstrates the ability to provide technical guidance and assistance in the type of work or in comparable work of the position to be filled; experience using computer and automation systems.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-09 Level - MUST possess specialized experience which includes 12 months of experience at the GS-07 level, education or training with experience in providing technical guidance and assistance in the type of work or in comparable work of the position to be filled; a thorough knowledge and understanding of administrative procedures and practices of management.; experience developing administrative procedures. GS-07 Level - MUST possess specialized experience in any position that requires compiling reports, letters, memoranda, etc., and required person-to-person contacts to convey information; have progressively responsible experience which demonstrates the ability to provide technical guidance and assistance in the type of work or in comparable work of the position to be filled; experience interpreting regulations, policies or law and providing guidance.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education
If you are using education to qualify for the GS-09 Level position, you must have a master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related.
Completion of courses such as the Officer Advanced Course, Squadron Officer School, Command and Staff College, Air and Army War College, National Security Management Course and others of comparable level will be credited at the rate of 1 month of education for 2 months of specialized experience.
