Duties
If selected for this position, you will provide a variety of administrative support services to the United States Attorney's Office for the Central District of Illinois. You will receive formal and/or on-the-job training as needed. Duties include:
Make purchases within delegated monetary authority.
Track obligations and expenditures.
Provide support services in relation to space management, records, supplies and equipment, office security, internal controls, health and safety.
Administer a wide variety of administrative support activities, e.g., office moves, reorganizations, and communication system changes.
Project and analyze space needs based on proposed initiatives, staff changes, and technology improvements.
Oversee building facility related projects.
Formulate and execute the support services budget.
Analyze office telecommunication needs relative to available technology.
Oversee property, equipment, and Fleet Vehicle inventories to include maintaining vehicle logs.
Backup Administrative Officer with reception, mail and visitor logs.
Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.
Requirements
- You must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
- Initial appointment is conditioned upon a satisfactory pre-employment adjudication. This includes fingerprint, credit and tax checks, and drug testing. Continued employment is subject to a favorable adjudication of a background investigation.
- You must be registered for Selective Service, if applicable.
- If selected, you may be required to complete a one year probationary period.
- Time-in-Grade: Federal employees must meet time-in-grade requirements within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement.
- You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement and before placement in the position.
Qualifications
GS-12: To be eligible at the GS-12 level, you must meet one full year of specialized experience at the GS-11 level in the Federal service performing the following types of duties: managing budget obligations and expenditures; reviewing and analyzing contract settlement proposals, audit reports, and approves contract payments; providing assistance with timekeeping and validating timesheets; arranging travel and providing final approval for travel; preparing and maintaining inventory logs for vehicles and property.
