This position is located in the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Domestic Field Division (Detriot). This position(s) primary purpose is for the management and oversight of all aspects of the Business Operations Program (BOP) within the respective DEA Domestic Division. The BOP consists of functions/matters related to Administration, Human Resources, Financial Resources, Procurement, Property, Fleet and Inventory, Security, and Task Force Management.

Duties

As a your typical work assignments may include: Managing and overseen the execution of Unit BOP level activities or functions pertaining to Administrative Support Services, Human Resource Management, Inspections or Internal controls, Security programs, Logistics, and Administrative functions related to task force management at the Division level and geographically dispersed locations (known as Outlying Offices). Serving as an advisor and consultant on business process management, business operations, and administrative matters. Executing and implementing at the Division level, operating policies, and procedures and directs the work to ensure the completion of mission and compliance. Collaborating and implementing future short and long-range plans in support of the Division's and GSU's goals and objectives. Providing mentoring as a cornerstone to the career development program.

Qualifications

Applicants must meet the required qualification requirements described below by the closing date of the announcement. If you are qualifying based on education or if there are mandatory education requirements listed below, you MUST submit a copy of your college transcripts with your application. Applicants applying for the GS-14 must meet the following requirements: Have at least one full year of specialized experience that is at least equivalent to work performed at the GS-13 grade level. Specialized experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Qualifying experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Managing the business operations activities and functions of an office and related to at least two of the following programs: Administrative Support Services, Human Resource Management, Inspections and Internal Controls, Security, Logistics, and Task Force Management; 2) Planning, to include tracking and reporting on accomplishments of program, goals and milestones that determine program efficiency; 3) Providing technical direction to subordinate employees on work to be accomplished; 4) Resolving complex and highly controversial issues and problems; and, 5) Assessing efficiency of the programs through studies, data collection and data analysis. Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants must meet time-in-grade and time after competitive appointment requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
