This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Office of the Chief Readiness Support Officer (OCRSO).
The primary purpose of this position is to serve as an expert analyst and/or advisor to management on a wide range of complex program activities.

Duties
As a Management and Program Analyst GS 0343 12, your typical work assignments may include the following under supervision:
Motor Pool Management, Passport Services or Transportation Services Management.
Provides analytical management and program management support and leadership in the planning, programming, and oversight of the programs' development and implementation.
Assess and modify the policy and program formulation, program direction, and management of the acquisition and procurement functions.
Conduct studies that identify ways to improve the effectiveness of work methods, procedures, and management controls.
Interprets and analyzes financial data and schedule performance metrics for evaluation of program effectiveness and efficiency.

Qualifications
Specialized Experience:
You qualify for the GS-12grade level if you possess one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-11grade level in the Federal government, performing duties such as:
Applying qualitative and quantitative methods to assess complex management processes, systems, and mission support programs;
Conducting studies pertaining to internal controls, budget processes, and contract procedures to recommend business improvement processes; and
Knowledge of Federal contracting laws, regulations, policies and processes to determine the acquisitions and procurement needs of headquarters management.
Substitution of education in lieu of specialized experience may not be used for this grade level.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Time-in-grade
Current General Schedule (GS) federal employees, and those that have served in GS positions within the last 52 weeks, must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade, or a combination of the next lower grade level and an equivalent band in the federal service.
