About the Position: This position is a DOD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 USC 1599f. Employees occupying CES positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. Serves as the Branch Chief for the J83, Resource Management Division providing coordinated manpower management, program management, budget analysis and management analysis.
Duties
Investigates and resolves crucial programs, matters of a policy nature, and those affecting resource management functions.
Developing and recommending budgeting and management analysis policies to the Division Chief and Comptroller or higher as appropriate.
Provides directional guidance and advice to the Resource Management staff regarding internal policy procedures and operational changes.
Exercises significant responsibilities in dealing with officials of other units or organizations; or in advising management officials of higher rank.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Three year trial/probationary period may be required.
- One-year supervisory probationary period required. A one-year probationary period is required if the selectee has not previously met this requirement.
- This position MAY be eligible for regular, and recurring telework.
- CERTIFICATION: This is a Financial Management Level 3 Certified position.
- Travel will be required approximately 10% of the time and may extend to OCONUS.
- Telework is at the discretion of management and not guaranteed. Incumbent must stay within commuting distance (50-mile radius) of Fort Meade, MD.
- This position is covered by the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program.
- Must successfully pass urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter according to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program.
