The primary responsibilities are to assist patients by escorting them to various locations within the facility to include but not limited to the Urgent Care Center, building and parking lots around the facility. Will also be required to transport lab specimen and to positively interact with our patients and customers. Must be able to articulate many facts regarding the facility and be able to sort them out promptly and give answers to specific questions or situations.
Duties
Employee must respond to two-way radio calls to transport our clients.
Ability to physically identify and assist patients who are physically/mentally challenged upon arrival at the facility.
Ability to adapt to situations quickly, precisely, and accurately.
Must be able to operate personal computers, and/or office support software for word processing, use of correct grammar, spelling, punctuation and required formats.
Must be able to transport and/or escort patients/customers/clients to various locations within a medical facility.
Will be required to push wheelchairs and stretchers weighting up to 200 pounds for up to eight hours.
Must communicate by telephone, computer, two-way radio to coordinate smooth transfer of clients from one point to another.
Ability to take instructions on a daily bases as assigned by the supervisor or assigned personnel.
Ability to follow through with inquiries and provide support.
Must be able to safely transport patients to various locations throughout the facility, i.e. The Urgent CareCenter, outer buildings, parking lots, garages, or their vehicles.
Ability to transport lab specimens to the appropriate lab or destination within a Healthcare System.
Ability to transport safely by use of wheelchairs and stretchers.
Must refer calls, answer questions, and refer patients to proper clinic and relay information regarding patient's conditions.
Responsible for the management and upkeep of all assistive devises to used to facilitate the safe transport of patients.
Responsible for the safe pickup and delivery of medications for patients to the nursing staff.
Work Schedule: Monday- Friday 8:00am- 4:30pm, (Subject to change based on the needs of the facility).

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions: Grade 1 laborers perform work that requires light to moderate physical effort. Tasks typically involve frequent lifting and carrying light- to medium-weight objects of 5 to 14 kilograms (10 to 30 pounds), frequently pushing wheelbarrows of mulch or dirt and carts requiring similar effort, occasionally lifting and carrying moderately heavy objects weighing up to 20 kilograms (45 pounds), and continually walking, bending, stooping, reaching, and standing.
This position requires pushing wheelchairs and stretchers weighing up to 200 pounds for up to eight hours; walking, standing, climbing stairs, emotional stability, and working dose with others. Incumbent must maintain cleanliness standards and good hygiene.
