This position is located within the Office of the Director at the Veterans Health Care System of the Ozarks in Fayetteville, Arkansas. The primary responsibilities of this position are to assist patients by escorting them to various locations within the facility to include but not limited to the Urgent Care Center, building and parking lots around the facility.

Duties

Major duties and responsibilities include: Transport lab specimen and to positively interact with our patients and customers. Answer questions, often posed repeatedly, and with enough variance that answers cannot be prepared in advance. Articulate many facts regarding the facility and be able to sort them out promptly and give answers to specific questions or situations. Recognize questions and situations which should be referred to the supervisor/appropriate source. Physically identify and assist patients who are physically/mentally challenged upon arrival to our facility. Assist the patients with the check in process at the Vet link Kiosk. Arrange for complainants to see an official who may be able to satisfy their wishes, or accept a formal report, suggestion, or complaints for consideration by others, depending upon the wishes of the customers. Performs other related duties as assigned. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm Recruitment & Relocation Incentives: Not authorized Critical Skills Incentive (CSI): Not approved

PHYSICAL EFFORT AND WORK CONDITIONS: This position requires pushing wheelchairs and stretchers weighing up to 200 pounds for up to eight hours; walking, standing, climbing stairs, emotional stability, and working dose with others. Incumbent must maintain cleanliness standards and good hygiene. The work is performed in an outpatient clinical environment and exposed to various elements within the health care system. Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Federal Wage System Qualifications. For this position, the job element method is used to match what you, the applicant, can do against what the work calls for. Your knowledge, skills and abilities will be compared to the knowledge, skills and abilities (called job elements) needed for success.
