About the Position: The US Army Garrison's Directorate of Public Works (DPW), Operations & Maintenance Division supports the Aberdeen Proving Ground mission through effective use of energy, providing and maintaining sustainable facilities and infrastructure, and emphasizing a culture of safety.
Located in the Business Operations and Integration Division, to serve as the Lead Management Assistant overseeing and providing critical administrative and clerical support for the entire DPW.
Duties
Serve as a Management Assistant with responsibility for a variety of technical support and administrative duties in support of management and the organization program functions.
Conduct analyses and studies of the activities and functions of the organization.
Use a computer and a knowledge of graphics generation techniques, prepares briefing charts ranging from simple word charts to complex charts with integrated graphics.
Serve as a Government Purchase Cardholder.
Ensure that work assignments of subordinate employees of the team are carried out timely, meeting mission goals and requirements.
Stay aware of the status and progress of work and make day-to-day adjustments in accordance with established priorities.
Give on the job training to new employees in accordance with established practices and procedures.
Check on work in progress verifying work procedures have been met; spot checks work not requiring review.
Conduct analyses and studies of the activities and functions of the organization.
Advise management on office automation, budgeting, training, purchasing, supply management, personnel administration, security badging, and provide staff support in each of these areas
Serve as primary timekeeper for DPW personnel.
Use automated systems such as: a word processer, DPW Facility Maintenance System (FMS), General Funds Enterprise Business System (GFEBS) and other types of software systems.
Must be able to type 40 words per minute, skill of a fully qualified typist with the knowledge of office automation and data processing.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience at the GS-07 grade level or equivalent which includes: a) Compiling data, reviewing products for clear errors, and maintaining records as required.; and b) Knowledge of office automation systems to enter, search for, edit, and extract data in support of management analysis functions and processes. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
OR
Education: One and a half years of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Business and Administration Management, etc.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond one year (total semester hours minus 18) by 9. Add the two percentages.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
