You will serve as a FINANCIAL TECHNICIAN in the COMPTROLLER GROUP, ACCOUNTING DEPARTMENT, NAVAL AIR DEPOT of FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST.
Duties
You will perform account maintenance and accounting support work requiring a basic understanding of accounting systems, policies, and procedures to examine, verify and maintain and reconcile accounts and accounting data, prepare and analyze reports.
You will examine documents for accuracy, adequacy, and compliance with financial management rules and regulations.
You will provide advice to employees, supervisors, and staff on pay-related rules and procedures.
You will perform work in support of payroll records maintenance and completion of payroll reports pertaining to civilian employees of the Federal Government.
Requirements

- This is a bargaining unit position.
- This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes
- This is a Financial Management Level 1 certified position per the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Section 1599d. You must achieve this level within prescribed timelines. Certification requirements are in DoD Instruction 1300.26.
Qualifications
GS:07: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Performing budget analysis support work such as maintenance of ledgers, budget formulation, compiling, consolidating, checking and arranging funding data for multiple projects 2) Examining documentation for accuracy and adequacy to fulfil compliance with legal regulations. 3) Performs and verifies complex arithmetical computations; and 4) Prepares regular reports including extracting and analyzing data from various systems and presenting those reports.
GS:06 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Performing budget analysis support work such as maintenance of ledgers, budget formulation, compiling, consolidating, checking and arranging funding data; 2) applying a practical understanding in the application of administrative rules, regulations and procedures associated with records, reporting, processing and keeping track of budgetary transactions; 3) Performs and verifies arithmetical computations; and 4) Prepares regular reports including extracting and analyzing data from various systems and presenting those reports.
