Duties
Summary: The primary purpose of this position is to provide over development and implementation of database management for Students Awaiting Training (SATS), Students Out of Training (SOTS), and Ineffective In Training (IIT) students. Suports local policy and procedures for management and administration of the SAT, SOT, UT program. Gathers, evaluates, and reports on the effectiveness on the Group's management of students in the above categories. This position serves as a training technician responsible for management of student records through the student accounting functions of current Air Force databases for Active Duty/Prior Service, Enlisted/Officer (individually), ANG, USAF Reserve and additionally supporting external databases for the Army and Marines.
Duties:
Collects, calculates, and monitors the overall SAT, SOT and IIT program for the Group.
Conducts training for SWTG squadron SAT/SOT/llT monitor on coding of data and the methods available for entering and extracting data from the system.
Manages, coordinates, schedules and prepares data for analysis by the production analyst in anticipation of student status meetings.
Provides quality controls training status change actions for student substitutions, unprojected or unconfirmed quota allocations and student no-shows.
Responsible for student accountability in TTMS, MILPDS, Army Training Requirements Resource System (ATRRS), AETC Decision Support System (ADSS), Students Out of Training Status (SOTS).
Determines reporting procedures and maintains close liaison with all military organizations reporting student training and utilizing technical training facilities and resources.

- Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.
- Work is performed in an office setting and is primarily sedentary; however, may require periodic visits to geographically separated units.
Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions, for the GS-1702, Education and Training Technician Series.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-06, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes knowledge of requirements for training and availability to include scheduling and planning for the Special Warfare Training Support Squadron. General knowledge of training activities in order to coordinate and analyze a variety of data and processes, prepare schedules and effectively communicate with and obtain cooperation and assistance of personnel in the organizations. Knowledge of office automation systems to use several types of software for various office needs. Knowledge of software needed to produce a wide range of documents requiring use of advanced software functions to meet needs of complex formats. Knowledge of missions and functions in order to plan and coordinate all training resource requirements. Skill and ability to gather, assemble, and analyze facts, draw conclusions, and devise solutions to problems.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-06 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-07 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of education and training systems.
2. Knowledge of various software programs, i.e. MILPDS, TTMS, ATRRS, ADSS.
3. Ability to read, interpret, comprehend, and follow regulations, manuals, pamphlets, and operating instructions.
4. Skill in oral and written communications.
5. Ability to analyze problems and develop appropriate solutions.
6. Skill in typing, ability to plan, organize work and meet deadlines.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
