Qualifications

To qualify for the GS-14 level, you must have 1 year of full-time* specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 level defined as leading projects to implement a new initiative or procedure; coordinating activities or communications with multiple stakeholders; and analyzing programs or processes to assess effectiveness in specific areas of the division's responsibilities such as the following: efficiencies related to facilities management, safety and health, environmental management, or enterprise budget management for functional programs.
Your answers to the online assessment will be used to evaluate your competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge of national policy issues directly impacting organization, planning, human resources, fiscal resources, administrative and management policies, and practices.
Knowledge of applicable laws, regulation, and practices governing safety, health, environmental management, facilities operations, asset management, research compliance, and resource management issues.
Skill in advanced management and organizational principles and practices that apply to programmatic activities and operations
Skill in written communications and working effectively with employees and senior management to manage safety, health, environmental management, facilities operations and management, asset management, research compliance, and resource initiatives, programs, and related challenges.
Skill in oral communication sufficient to coordinate with partners and stakeholders.
Skill in identifying potential new directions, initiatives, or partnerships that could advance the visibility of the division.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
