This position is located in the Office of State, Local, Tribal, and Territorial Preparedness (OSLTTP) in the Strategic National Stockpile (SNS) in Atlanta, GA.

Duties

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY As a Supervisory Public Health Advisor, you will use your knowledge and experience to guide the operations of a division within the SSN Office of State, Local, Tribal and Territorial Preparedness by: Advancing program objectives to State and local health agencies through application of sound managerial concepts and practices, and makes recommendations about the use of funds, headquarters and field staff personnel, and other resources with a view toward improving the national impact of OSLTTP's activities. Managing and directs the activities of program staff assigned to SNS headquarters or in the field through subordinate supervisors at the GS 14 grade level. Acting as liaison with Federal, State, local, Tribal and Territorial public health and emergency management officials, public and private sector health organization and health/medical institutions and organizations on matters of public and community health that could impact readiness to receive, distribute, and dispense or administer medical countermeasures (MCM) from the SNS during response to emergencies. Assisting the Office Director in the preparation of annual budget plans and justification for recruitment, training, career development, and management activities for OSLTTP staff. Develops short- and long-range projections for program activities and prepares requests for resource needs accordingly.

Qualifications

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR Must have at least one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service performing the following: Leading in the planning, development, and implementation of national and international response strategies to potential acts of terrorism and national emergencies. Leading an organization's efforts to ensure state, local, tribal, and territorial (SLTT) partners are properly educated and prepared to receive medical countermeasures from the SNS during a public health emergency. Serve as advocate in the work of ASPR's mission and its various programs to critical target audiences, such as federal, state, local, tribal, and territorial he public health workforce, associated professional organizations, and policymakers.
