This position is located in the Immunologic & Infectious Diseases Budget and Financial Management Branch (IIDBFMB), Office of Mission Integration and Financial Management (OMIFM), Office of Science Management and Operations (OSMO), Office of the Director (OD), National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), National Institutes of Health (NIH), Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS).

Duties

If selected for this position, your duties may include, but are not limited to the following: Direct the work through two subordinate team supervisors. Interpret financial information for the Director and Executive Committee to assist them in evaluating programs for decision-making alternatives. Engage in program planning to judge the consequences of introducing new initiatives, or substantially revising current initiatives, to current program operations and to meet emerging mission requirements. Compile and analyze narrative and statistical material for the assigned mission area concerning the budget and major research programs in preparation for briefings to NIH, DHHS, OMB, the White House, and Congress. Supervise the development of financial data systems for NIAID that are essential in obtaining data for management decisions.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship requirement or proof of being a U.S. National must be met by closing date.

Qualifications

To qualify for a Supervisory Financial Planning and Budget Management Specialist, GS-501-15 level, you must meet the following qualification requirement. You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks:providing oversight and direction to others in performing financial planning and budget management functions; advising on financial planning and budget management operations, plans, policies, and procedures; analyzing narrative and statistical information on financial planning and budget management programs and issues; preparing documentation, briefing materials, and presentations on financial planning and budget management programs and operations; and administering integrated financial management systems.
