Duties
You will serve as an IT Cybersecurity Specialist (INFOSEC) at Fleet Cyber Command (USFLTCYBERCOM) in the Operations Branch, Operations Division.
You will perform iterative and in-depth analysis of required or supporting artifacts early in a system’s life cycle to assess the extent to which adequate security protections will be/are built into a system.
You will conduct comprehensive review of the Assessment and Authorization package to perform assessment of residual risk.
You will advise whether the risk is acceptable to allow issuance of an Authority to Operate determination or reciprocal authorization to deploy another Service’s system in the Navy environment.
You will define plan of objectives and milestones to achieve stated overall objectives.
You will ensure designs and proposed actions to address cybersecurity deficiencies are implemented to mitigate risks.
You will assure the entire Assessment and Authorization process is fully and accurately documented to enable later identification of the origins of and rationale for risk management trade-offs and decisions.
You will perform Maritime Operations Center operational functions in accordance with the MOC Standardization instruction.
You will maintain up to date awareness of ongoing cyber operations at the enterprise level.
You will assess effects associated with of implementation of approved risk management plans on the security and integrity of assigned customers’ IT assets throughout the system life cycle.
You will engage in continuing efforts to maintain up-to-date understanding of emerging technologies and operational issues that could affect risk assessment work and workflow process automation.
You will manage available personnel assets to concurrently make headway on high-priority Assessment and Authorization projects, and support emergent special projects.
Requirements

- MSP/PPP applicants must currently hold the required security clearance.
- This is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role code 611, proficiency level ADVANCED, the incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Department of Navy policies.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications
Applicants must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies or knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience is typically in or directly relates to the work of the position to be filled. You must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below:

Experience demonstrating this competency include: Alerts and advises customers of issues and changes, such as changes in higher echelon policy, processes, and standards, or availability of new security assessment methods and tools.
3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. Examples of experience demonstrating this competency include: Providing relevant information and, as appropriate, makes informed recommendations for acceptance of risk.
4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. Examples of experience demonstrating this competency include: Leading investigation and resolution of persistent or potentially controversial issues.
In addition to my experience demonstrating the four competencies above, I have qualifying experience such as:
-Experience identifying and assessing vulnerabilities, weaknesses, and potential shortfalls in terms of confidentiality, integrity, and availability of IT assets.
-Experience performing detailed analyses of software and firmware to determine the adequacy of safeguards.
-Experience analyzing data to see trends and identifying potential chokepoints or problem areas.
-Experience tasking and directing supporting team members.
