This position provides administrative technical support to the Home Health Program (HHP), Administrative Officer, Rehab and Extend Care Nurse Administrator, Home Health RN Clinical Manager, Home Health RNs, and Nursing Assistant at the Iowa City Veterans Affairs Health Care System (ICVAHCS). The work includes the performance of administrative support for the program, maintaining staff schedules and data collection.

Duties

Major Duties listed but not limited to: Assists the Administrative Officer, Rehab and Extended Care Nurse Administrator, Home Health RN Clinical Manager, in preparation of presentations and reports. Receives and screens all incoming mail, responding to non-technical correspondence and appropriately routing all other correspondence. Independently requests office supplies, patient supplies, admission booklets, supplies needed for nursing and nursing assistant's bags. Reminds staff of upcoming meetings, trainings courses that are designated as mandatory by the Administrative Officer, REC Nurse Administrator or Home Health RN Clinical Manager. Reviews all correspondence by HHP team members for any conflicts with established policies/procedures and attempts to resolve the issues prior to presenting to the REC Nurse Administrator or Home Health RN Clinical Manager. Serves as a purchase care holder and assist coordination of service line equipment requisition process, working with Service Line employees to obtain required information, submitting requests in required format, tracking acquisition once requests are approved, alerting Service Line leadership and/or logistics when delays occur, providing documents to auditing personnel on a timely basis. Ensures schedules for home visits are accurate and up to day daily. Contacts Veteran to ensure address, phone number, services needed, and schedules admission visits per policy. Performs work involving the collection, compilation, and tracking of data and statistical information in support of an organization's program operation. Performing other duties as assigned. Qualifications

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 09/04/2024. Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-06 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-05. For a GS-07 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-06. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. You may qualify based on your experience as described below: GS-06 Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-05 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Planning and organizing studies, estimating costs, coordinating with staff, and conducting all phases of a project; Collecting, analyzing, assembling, preparing and disseminating information; Presents informational material to achieve understanding in customers; Operating computer software packages for word processing, data processing, flow-charting, and SharePoint; and Scheduling appointments, coordinating meetings and conferences GS-07 Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-06 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Planning and organizing studies, estimating costs, coordinating with staff, and conducting all phases of a project; Collecting, analyzing, assembling, preparing and disseminating information; Presents informational material to achieve understanding in customers; Operating computer software packages for word processing, data processing, flow-charting, and SharePoint; Scheduling appointments, coordinating meetings and conferences; and Keeps track of mileage logs, car keys, maintenance on vehicles and ensuring gas cards are working for each vehicle. You will be rated on the following Competencies for this position: ClericalCommunicationsComputer SkillsManages and Organizes Information Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities.
