This position is located at Bureau of the Fiscal Service, Administrative Resource Center - Assistant Managing Director, Service Delivery. As a HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT (OA), you will perform work involving a variety of recurring problems, questions and situations in the Office as Assigned.
Duties
As a HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT (OA), you will:
Process a range of actions, including those that have unusual conditions or issues requiring deviation from standard procedures to complete the action.
Assist HR Specialists and others by performing structured segments of their work or participating on projects and studies.
Respond to inquiries concerning HR entitlements and services, processing procedures, alternatives, and requirements, and provides other information depending on the nature of the issue, organization serviced, status of the requestor and similar factors.
Identify and resolving procedural issues involving consideration of variables that would affect the determination of appropriate action.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. To ensure full credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of employment by month/day/year and indicate number of hours worked per week on your résumé.
You must be able to type a minimum of 40 words per minute.
Specialized Experience: For the GS-06: You must have one (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-05 level, or equivalent, which is directly related to the position as listed in this announcement and has equipped the candidate with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the position successfully. Specialized experience is defined as possessing ALL of the following:
- Performing in a technical, clerical, and administrative support role for a business or organization utilizing computer systems and tools to prepare and update documents and reports; AND
- Responding to inquiries in person, via email, and on the telephone; AND
- Reviewing files and documents for completeness and compliance with established guidelines.
Specialized Experience: For the GS-05: You must have one (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-04 level, or equivalent, which is directly related to the position as listed in this announcement and has equipped the candidate with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the position successfully. Specialized experience is defined as possessing BOTH of the following:
- Responding to inquiries in person, via email, and on the telephone; AND
- Reviewing files and documents for completeness and compliance with established guidelines.
OR
You may substitute education for specialized experience as follows: four (4) years of education above the high school level.
OR
You may qualify by a combination of experience and education. Options for qualifying based on a combination will be identified in the online questions.
In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the GS-06, you must have been at the GS-05 level for 52 weeks.
For the GS-05, you may be advanced to the GS-05 position if you have held a position no lower than GS-03 in the preceding year under your latest non-temporary competitive appointment OR have held a position at GS-05 or higher under a non-temporary appointment at any time in the past.
