This position is located at Bureau of the Fiscal Service, Human Resources Systems Division. As a Human Resources Assistant (Information Systems) (OA), you will perform a variety of work with human resources systems, policies, and procedures.
Duties
The following are the duties of this position at the GS-07. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties and will receive training to help you grow in this position.
As a Human Resources Assistant (Information Systems) (OA), you will:
Provide customer service for numerous calls and emails daily in a help desk call center environment on HR system related questions.
Provide technical assistance and advice to management and employees in Fiscal Service and external franchise customers on using HR systems (e.g., the HR Connect suite of systems, ITM, webTA, and the National Finance Center's suite of systems).
Maintain the HR systems by setting appropriate user access, maintaining reports to structure, and updating tables as needed.
Use the full functionality of personal computers and a variety of application packages such as MS Access, Excel, and Word.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. To ensure full credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of employment by month/day/year, and indicate number of hours worked per week on your résumé.
Specialized Experience: For the GS-07, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes the following:
- Providing general customer service via telephone and email in a help desk environment using an automated system; AND
- Conveying technical information to customers or team members.
Specialized Experience: For the GS-06, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes the following:
- Providing general customer service via telephone and email in a help desk environment; AND
- Applying policies and procedures to support customer needs.
Specialized Experience: For the GS-05, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-04 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes the following:
- Gathering pertinent data, identifying problems and recognizing solutions.
OR You may substitute education for general or specialized experience as follows: 4 years above high school.
OR You may qualify by a combination of experience and education.To combine education and experience, the total percentage of experience at the required grade level compared to the requirement, as well as the percentage of completed education compared to the requirement must equal at least 100 percent. Only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (90 quarter hours) may be combined to be considered for qualifying education.
