This position is located in the Bureau of the Fiscal Service, Human Resources Operations Division (HROD) Branch as Assigned. As a LEAD HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT (INFORMATION SYSTEMS)(OA), you will perform the full range of personnel assistant duties and serve as a work advisor and technical resource to Human Resources Assistants (OA) in the office.
Duties
The following are the duties of this position at the GS-9. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties and will receive training to help you grow in this position.
Lead a team of Human Resources Assistants to set priorities and deadlines.
Assign work to team members based on skill level, difficulty of task, priorities, etc.
Work in conjunction with other Lead HR Assistants in facilitating workload balance across the branch.
Review and analyze technical and work-related problems/issues that arise and develop or recommend alternative solutions.
Recommend input to performance appraisals, assess employees' day-to-day work, and address any deficiencies.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. To ensure full credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of employment by month/day/year, and indicate number of hours worked per week on your resume.
You must possess a typing skill of at least 40 words per minute. AND
Specialized Experience For the GS-9, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-8 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes:
- Processing a full range of personnel actions that include promotions, reassignments, separations, accessions and correction packages consistent with regulations and policies; AND
- Independently applying rules, regulations, policies and procedures to day-to-day human resources operations; AND
- Communicating with customers internally and externally to provide information and resolve issues.
Specialized Experience For the GS-8, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-7 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes:
- Researching regulations, policies and procedures to support human resources operations; AND
- Experience communicating with customers internally and externally; AND
- Managing multiple priorities. Examples of such assignments may include responding to customer inquiries, reviewing reports, recognizing errors, and reconciling problems.
In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the GS-9, you must have been at the GS-8 level for 52 weeks.
For the GS-8, you must have been at the GS-7 level for 52 weeks.
