About the Position: The incumbent will serve as a Management Analyst at the ACOS, G3/5/7 Force Management Division U. S. Army South Ft. Sam Houston, Texas.
Duties
Represent ARSOUTH in defending the command position on force structure, equipment and manpower requirements at the Headquarters Department of the Army (HQDA) level.
Making decisions involving various levels of complex technical and Manpower and Force Management issues.
Develop policies for research investigations into various readiness issues in support of ARSOUTH’s mission requirements.
Execute technical assessments of readiness studies conducted from research.
Evaluate Readiness Program operations, concepts, and emerging theories to improve operations and determine impact on unit readiness posture.
Coordinate equipment modernization and fielding efforts with project managers.
Prepare readiness reports with analyzed information, ad hoc readiness information papers, and factsheets for the Commanding General.
Present command positions on readiness management analytical issues within the assigned area of responsibility.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
- Travel requirement is 15% or more.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Evaluating DoD readiness program operations. 2) Preparing presentations to communicate with higher levels of leadership. 3) Performing research and analysis to make recommendations. 4) Providing Manpower and Force Management services at or above a major headquarters level. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12 or above).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
