You will serve as a Inventory Management Specialist of NAVSUP FLT LOGISTICS CNTR SAN DIEGO.

Duties

You will submit quarterly inventory reports to the RIAO summarizing the results of quarterly inventory control reviews for respective sites in their area of responsibility. You will ensure that systems are correctly accounting for inventory. You will ensure that physical inventories, causative research, location surveys, and inter-service and intra-service location reconciliations are performed as required. You will schedule, coordinate with and conduct over site testing in accordance guidance provided by the RIAO (Regional Inventory Accuracy Officer).

Requirements

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • This is a bargaining unit position.

Qualifications

For GS-12: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized Inventory Management Specialist experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector utilizing a comprehensive knowledge of applied principles, concepts, and methodologies of inventory management to perform analysis, identifying discrepancies, and taking corrective action of the inventory accuracy process in support of organizational structures and operations. You have experience recommending improved procedures affecting receipt processing, requisition processing, and physical inventory functions such as inventory counts, causative research, inventory adjustments/reversals, reconciliation reports, and dues management. Examples of specialized experience must include: 1) Participating in planning initiatives that may influence inventory records accuracy, such as warehousing efforts, revisions to receiving/receipt control processes, and/or development/implementation of new warehouse management systems; 2) Submitting inventory accuracy reports that summarize results of inventory control reviews; 3) Ensuring automated material management database systems are correctly accounting for inventory; 4) Providing training and guidance to sites regarding inventory management and accuracy in accordance with policies. GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-09) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector applying governing supply regulations, policies, and procedures in order to research, analyze and investigate discrepancies that occur, recommend resolution and report the information to a supervisor. You have experience using material management processes and various IT systems (e.g eRetrograde Management System (eRMS), Commercial Asset Visibility (WebCAV) or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)) to ensure accuracy of data entry and maintenance of inventory. You have experience planning, analyzing and evaluating the effectiveness of supply programs and to consider and enforce innovative procedures and methods to increase managerial effectiveness. Examples of specialized experience may include some of the following 1) Monitor performance measures to ensure timeframe and benchmarks are being met in order to present data to a supervisor 2) Ensure transactions and material movements are entered into Navy ERP; 3) Research data and information, analyze that information and convert that analysis into written reports; 4) Provide training and guidance regarding inventory management and accuracy in accordance with policy. In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

GS-11 SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE:

Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
OR
3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
OR
