The primary purpose of this position, FACILITY MAINTENANCE OPERATIONS SPECIALIST, NH-1601-2, is to provide customer support to Maintenance Operations for assigned working location, group and/or organization.
Duties
Purchase, control, monitor, and manage the accomplishment of preventive maintenance and setup functions of all equipment and the items, equipment or component management in support of maintenance activities.
Integrate and synchronize preventive maintenance.
Obtain and monitor the use of computers, peripherals, equipment, and supplies.
Provide total quality service.

- PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The work is primarily sedentary. May require some walking, standing, bending, carrying and/or lifting of light items such as paper or books. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
- WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work is performed in a typical office setting, requiring the use of normal safety precautions necessary for an office environment. The work area is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated.
- The work may require the employee to drive a motor vehicle. Must be able to obtain and maintain an appropriate valid driver’s license.
- Individual may be required to work various shifts, over-time, weekends, or holidays on short notice.
- Employee may be required to travel aboard military and civilian aircraft to attend training at locations other than the local community.
- Required to drive a GOV/POV to accomplish duty requirements associated with facilities on the installation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook).
- This is a Testing Designated position. The employee is subject to random drug testing.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions. Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least 3 years of progressively responsible experience, 1 year of which was equivalent to the next lower broadband NH-02, equivalent to the next lower grade GS-4, or equivalent in other pay systems. Generalized experience is experience in:the ability to analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data, and recognize solutions; plan and organize work; and communicate effectively orally and in writing. NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.

EDUCATION: The successful completion of a 4-year course study leading to a bachelor's degree. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts.
OR
COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: An equivalent combination of successfully completed, qualifying education and experience may be used to meet total experience requirements. General experience directly related to the work of the position may be used to meet the requirements of this position. Education in excess of a post-high school education may be used to qualify applicants for the NH-02 level. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge in asset management principles and practices as it applies to operations management and requirements and optimization activities, rules procedures, and operations applicable to real property management and financial management.
Knowledge of civil engineering work control, customer service, and operations/maintenance management procedures; knowledge of civil engineering work centers and type of work performed by each type of work center and associated computerized maintenance management and sustainment management systems, system capabilities, and economic usage to effectively accomplish assigned functions.
Knowledge of safety, security, and environmental standards, regulations, and requirements and how to apply them.
Skill in preparing financial management program reference material and training presentation and tracking training currency for all assigned financial managements.
Skill in collecting, organizing, analyzing, sorting, associating, and filtering data from one or more sources using spreadsheet, database, or other data manipulation tools (macros, formulas, pivots tables, charts) to portray trends, findings, visualizations and build effective presentations to support and drive decision making.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
