This position is located in Discovery And Preservation Services The incumbent for this position will work a full-time, flextime, Compflex work schedule. The position description number for this position is 423454 The salary range indicated reflects the locality pay adjustments for the Washington, D.C., Metropolitan area. This is a non-supervisory, bargaining unit position. Relocation expenses will not be authorized for the person(s) selected under this vacancy announcement.

Duties

The incumbent plans and carries out a limited number of procedures to acquire library materials via exchange, gift, transfer, approvals, Copyright or purchase. Performs searches of reference sources which may include print, automated files, and internal and external databases.

Qualifications

Applicants must have had progressively responsible experience and training sufficient in scope and quality to furnish them with an acceptable level of the following knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the position without more than normal supervision. Knowledge of library processes and procedures.** Knowledge of library acquisitions and cataloging rules, practices and procedures.** Ability to plan and organize work assignments and set priorities in order to meet deadlines. Ability to use an Integrated Library System (ILS), computerized search tools, databases and other computer applications. ** Ability to perform library functions that support the unit or section. Knowledge of proper library collection materials handling processes and procedures. Ability to communicate effectively other than in writing.
