This position is located in Seattle, WA working with the Community Housing and Outreach program as part of Social Work Service and provides support to the Housing team, Project Based teams, grant per diem (GPD), Veterans Justice Outreach (VJO), north and south Balance of State (BOS) teams with locations across Western Washington.

Duties

Promotion Potential: The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met. Selection at a lower grade level does not guarantee promotion to the full performance level. Duties include but not limited to: Provide clerical support daily for the Community Housing and Outreach program in the form of processing Veterans care requests, reviewing screening questionnaire, processing Veterans care requests, reviewing screening questionnaire, processing phone messages, reviewing and tracking vehicle utilization, working with logistics on supply planning, is point of contact (POC) for stand down items and coordinating supplies for events, and setting up vehicle maintenance schedules, coordinating supply runs for housing teams in extended locations, track and purchase general post funds (GPF) support items for Homeless Program social workers to give away as needed. Reviews vehicle logs weekly for any listed issues or concerns from staff. Works closely with Community Housing Outreach Services (CHOS) lead administrative staff to review vehicle logs and coordinate utilization. Maintains spreadsheet with updates on vehicles pertaining to availability or relocation. Perform as point of contact for logistics, incoming and outgoing mail, along with donated supplies for the facility they are stationed at. Work with the assigned logistics contact to order personal protective equipment (PPE) supplies, necessary shower kits, and laundry items that are used daily at the facilities. Complete monthly inventory on donated supplies and reporting on items that are low or need to be ordered. Create and maintain tracking systems to include, but not limited to call logs, contact resources, vehicles utilization, Logistics supplies, Staples office supplies, along with PPE needed by clinical staff who work out in the community. Coordinate with Homeless Program community partners, Social Work and other VA staff to provide administrative assistance. Communicate with support services lines concerning needs and orders. Qualifications

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 09/10/2024. Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements within 30 day of the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-06 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-05. For a GS-7 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-6. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment. You may qualify based on your experience and/or education s described below: Specialized Experience GS-6: You must have one year of specialized experience or within 30 days of announcement closing equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-5 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Knowledge of policies, regulations, procedures, priorities, and programs pertaining to Community Outreach programs in the form of processing Veterans Care Requests, reviewing screening questionnaires, reviewing and tracking vehicle utilization, working with logistics on supply planning and setting up vehicle maintenance schedules; Knowledge of Veteran care and administrative services at the facility to plan, implement, carry out and advise on various activities relative to quality management/improvement; Experience analyzing and problem solving; Knowledge of basic financial procedures and processes; Experience with computer software programs to input and retrieve data; Experience with design, writing and reviewing policies; and experience with completing complex and varying duties involving different and unrelated steps, processes, and methods. NOTE: As a general rule, education is not creditable above GS-5 for most positions covered by this standard; however, graduate education may be credited in those few instances where the graduate education is DIRECTLY RELATED to the work of the position. (TRANSCRIPTS REQUIRED) Specialized Experience GS-7: You must have one year of specialized experience or within 30 days of announcement closing equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-6 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Experience includes experience where you were responsible for providing administrative support functions within a healthcare facility or Community Outreach program; programs pertaining to Community Outreach programs in the form of processing Veterans Care Requests, reviewing screening questionnaires, reviewing and tracking vehicle utilization, working with logistics on supply planning and setting up vehicle maintenance schedules; Coordinating supplies for events, tracking and purchasing general post funds support items for Socials work programs. Knowledge of Veteran care and administrative services at the facility to plan, implement, carry out and advise on various activities relative to quality management/improvement; Experience with computer software programs to input and retrieve data; Experience with design, writing and reviewing policies; and experience with completing complex and varying duties involving different and unrelated steps, processes, and methods. Skill in using information management and analysis software, including spreadsheets, other data, graphics, presentations, and flowcharting software; Knowledge on procurement processes; Knowledge and experience on funding obligations and expenditures. NOTE: As a general rule, education is not creditable above GS-5 for most positions covered by this standard; however, graduate education may be credited in those few instances where the graduate education is DIRECTLY RELATED to the work of the position. Physical Requirements: The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work.
