This position is located under Nursing Service, Home Telehealth program at the Department of Veterans Affairs Northern California Health Care System (VANCHCS), in McClellan, California. The primary purpose of this position is to provide administrative, clerical, and technical support to the Nurse Manger and Home Telehealth Lead for the Home Telehealth (HT) Program.
Duties

Duties may include, but are not limited to the following:
Assists the HT Lead in keeping the HT Nurse Manager apprised of patient census and any changes/problems that might be encountered.
Participates in performance improvement activities related to the program quality improvement process.
Performs various clerical duties in support of the Home Telehealth program.
S/He supports assigned committees or councils by completing, distributing and posting minutes and agendas.
Accurately calls and processes Non-Responder NR information, documents and reports in accordance with established procedures to include fliers and letters and provide updates to various databases.
S/He will accurately collect, enter and manage data, including both patient and program data in the Home telehealth databases in a timely manner.
Will act as consultant to program team members with regards to administrative matters.
Independently resolves technical equipment problems/issues with patients, caregivers and vendors.
Projects/tracks the annual estimates of a variety of programmatic costs and responsible for compiling various budget reports as
requested as well as maintaining accurate account of actual expenditures.
Ability to fully communicate in a positive professional manor verbally and in writing with a variety of people from different backgrounds and different levels of understanding.
Initiate and complete multiple tasks independently during a workday as well as anticipating and preventing operational and personnel issues daily is essential.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Work Schedule: Full-Time; Monday through Friday, (8:00am-4:30pm)

Qualifications
To qualify for this position at the GS-6 grade level , Applicants must meet at least one of the following criteria:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Have at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-5) in Federal Service, that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of a Program Support Assistant, and that is typically in or related to the work of this position. Specialized experience includes: performing a full range of administrative support for an office; Prepares and maintains charts, data, reports, and statistical material; answers phones, takes messages, and provides general guidance; prepares letters, memorandums, and other correspondence; perform data processing support; utilizes office automation software such as Microsoft Office (MS Word and Excel); communicates both verbally and in writing; NOTE: Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must clearly indicate the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment.
TYPING PROFICIENCY: This position requires the skills of a qualified typist. In addition to meeting the experience and/or education requirements, you must be able to type at least 40 words per minute.

IMPORTANT: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. All experience listed on your resume must include the month and year start/end dates. Physical Requirements: The work is basically sedentary but requires walking, standing, bending and carrying light items such as books, papers, office supplies and Telehealth equipment. No special physical demands are required to perform the work. The incumbent must be flexible in adjusting to constant changes in the workload.
