This position serves as a Program Support Assistant assigned to the Mental Health Service at the Department of Veteran's Affairs, within the Veterans Health Administration as part of the VA Sierra Pacific Network (VISN 21), in the VA Northern California Healthcare System Mental Health Product Line (MHPL). Position will be located at the McClellan Outpatient Clinic in McClellan Park, California.

Duties

***THIS IS NOT A VIRTUAL POSITION, YOU MUST LIVE WITHIN OR BE WILLING TO RELOCATE WITHIN A COMMUTABLE DISTANCE OF THE DUTY LOCATION*** Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: Performs the clerical assignments associated with office management, include but limited to, program correspondence using approved methods of communication such as email, telephone, instant message, written memoranda, secure messaging, etc., office supply ordering (e.g. MLJ Enterprises), Equipment Inventory List (EIL) quarterly review and updates, submitting and tracking work order requests for the Office of Information & Technology (OI&T), Biomedical Engineering, and Engineering & Facilities Management Service and Daily Management System (DMS) updates to Service leadership regarding people, equipment and processes. Keeps staff advised of any changes in administrative policies and procedures; provides instruction to staff members on administrative VA policies, procedures, regulations, station memoranda, etc. Plans develops and installs internal office procedures within the Clinic. Orders all supplies and equipment, testing materials, etc. Initiates all personnel actions. Initiates all actions necessary to bring on board all staff including, T&L assignment, necessary mandatory training for new employees, ordering all necessary equipment, including phone hook-up, pager, computer, etc. Provides programmatic support in reviewing and dispositioning the Electronic Wait List (EWL), VISTA and clinic builds, modifications and cancellations, consult management and disposition of referrals to various sites/programs within Mental Health Service, Patient Centered Management Module (PCMM) assignments and updates (e.g. Mental Health Treatment Coordinator (MHTC). Runs reports for data analysis, to include but not limited to, the Encounter Action Required Report (EARR) and communicate commonly occurring themes issues to the PM and/or analytic support staff members, (e.g. Practice Manager, Program Analysts, etc.) in efforts for each site and/or program to ensure proper workload capture for monetary reimbursement of services rendered. Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: One (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-5) in Federal Service, that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of a Program Support Assistant (Office Automation), GS-6 position, and that is typically in or related to the work of this position. Specialized experience includes: performing a full range of administrative support for an office; receiving visitors and phone calls; reviewing all incoming and outgoing correspondence; scheduling meetings; and utilizing office automation software such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). This experience must be detailed in your resume to receive credit. AND TYPING PROFICIENCY: This position requires the skills of a qualified typist. In addition to meeting the experience and/or education requirements, you must be able to type at least 40 words per minute. You will be rated on the following Competencies as part of the assessment questionnaire for this position: Attention to DetailCommunicationPlan and organize workReliability And Dependability IMPORTANT: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. All experience listed on your resume must include the month and year start/end dates. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Physical Requirements: The work is primary sedentary. The PSA may sit comfortably to do the work. Some walking, standing, bending, carrying light items and occasional errand runs are required. Travel may be required to other NCHCS sites as needed. There are no unusual physical demands.
