You will serve as a SUPERVISORY GENERAL SUPPLY SPECIALIST in the MATERIAL SOURCING BRANCH (Code 520.1) of PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF.

Duties

You will plan, organize, and direct the activities of supply specialists in material sourcing activities, ensuring that the work of the Branch employees comply with legal and regulatory requirements while fulfilling customer requirements. You will serve as PHNSY and IMF's primary supply chain POC with DLA, NAVSUP WSS, and private industry, ensuring all material required for repair and alteration of ships is ordered and sourced correctly to support production schedules. You will develop and initiate administrative procedures and controls to ensure that the material requisitions are processed in an orderly manner within the time and budget constraints. You will be responsible for the logistical activities of all work within the area of processing requisitions in support of ordering and sourcing the material support functions at PHNSY and IMF.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector analyzing and executing ship repair supply/material ordering operations necessary for providing authoritative advice, coordinating material/supply/equipment requirements, and making recommendations and decisions to ensure that all the required material are properly sourced and ordered correctly.
