The primary purpose of this position is to operate metallizing equipment to build up, restore original dimensions and prevent corrosion of aircraft engine parts; Repair special treatment and processing to ensure adherence of the metallic deposit or coating.

Duties

The full range of metallizing work including operations that require coating of limited or precisely defined areas on parts; Require special treatment and processing to ensure adherence of the metallic deposit or coating; Or require extensive or precise controls of the metalizing process. Knowledge of metalizing processes, assists engineering with new set-ups and prototypes for new parts and/or processing. Uses a variety appreciation measuring instruments and equipment such as inside, outside, and depth micrometers, gas pressure gages, depth gauges, scales and vernier calipers. Utilize safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations to maintain a safe and clean work environment. Perform production acceptance certification (PAC) program duties.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the quality level of experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards Handbook X-118C. QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook X-118C for the WG-3700 Metal Processing Family. Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most blue-collar positions, you must meet any screen-out element listed, and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.
