Duties

You will ensure a wide variety of recycling materials are identified, classified, segregated, processed, containerized, stored properly, safeguarded, and delivered and/or picked up properly. You will ensure recycling activities performed are done in compliance with Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA). You will help enhance the Base's recycling program by implementing resource recovery and reduction, recycling, and waste minimization. You will keep record of items received, delivered, or shipped out. You will perform investigations and site visits regularly, and provide technical assistance, guidance, and information to generating activities and units concerning what to turn in for recycling.

Requirements

• Must be a US Citizen.
• Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
• Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

• You will be required to obtain and maintain a valid forklift operator certification within six months of entry on duty.
• You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: preparing items for recycling by bailing, dismantling, packing, or palletizing; AND collecting recyclables in specialized recycling vehicles.
