This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
About the Position: Logistics Management Specialist in the AMCOM Logistic Center (ALC).
Duties
Analyze logistical problems, in aviation and missile systems, and recommend course of action to resolve issues that arise during development or sustainment of a major weapon system.
Oversee short and long-range planning to ensure adequate readiness support is available to maintain unit/system readiness.
Develop maintenance concepts, supply support elements, and product improvement initiatives to ensure quality sustainment of weapon system in support of Program Management Office logistics.
Develop and maintain acquisition logistics documentation for various weapon systems throughout the adaptive acquisition framework/lifecycle.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Submit Financial Disclosure OGE 450 upon appointment and annually.
- Obtain and maintain Secret security clearance.
- Obtain and maintain acquisition certification, Life Cycle Logistics, Advanced level, within 4 years of job entry.
- Temporary duty travel (TDY) 25%.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: One year of specialized experience which includes: Supporting major weapons systems at the field or unit level; exprience in Life Cycle Sustainment Plan and/or Business Case Analysis/Analysis of Product Support Alternatives and Experience in three or more areas of logistic operations or management programs e.g., deployment, foreign military sales, procurement, maintenance, supply, training, distribution, provisioning, and readiness to include the technical ability to resolve major weapon system issues. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
Education
FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
