About the Position: This position is located with the Army Sustainment Command, 404th Army Field Support Brigade, Logistics Readiness Center. Rock Island Arsenal, IL
Duties
Develop and maintain operating procedures which concern more than one area, to provide consistency in the application of entitlements and services provided to customers.
Serves as the Transportation Division Chief responsible for oversight and coordination of the installation transportation program.
Maintains overview of program accomplishments and manpower utilization.
Approves transportation entitlements as dictated by the Joint Travel Regulation (JTR) .
Inspects activities for compliance with policy, regulatory, and program requirements.
Develops the Program Objective Memorandum (POM) forecasted requirements for the Installation Transportation activities.
Oversee a workforce comprised of both in house and/or contractor personnel performing various logistical functions.
Ensure work planning, production, quality of work, internal personnel administration, observance of regulatory criteria, and/or other similar matters meet project goals.
Requirements

- Position requires temporary duty (TDY) business travel approximately 25% of the time.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1)planning, directing, coordinating a complex transportation program related to the worldwide movement of personal property and personnel (military and civilian); 2) procuring the most effective transportation to move large groups of personnel by air and ground; 3) establishing policies and procedures to meet requirements of a Transportation Management Program and 4) planning and assigning quality work to be accomplished by subordinates. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
