About the Position: This position is located in the US Army Sustainment Command, 404th Army Field Support Brigade, Rock Island Arsenal, IL. This position is a term position not to exceed 13 months with the possibility of extensions.

Duties

Develop plans and coordinates transportation operations policies and programs. Apply knowledge of transportation regulations, procedures, or methods required to accomplish day-to-day requirements. Analyze maintenance and utilization data to track adverse trends in the non-tactical vehicle fleet. Modify policies in order to increase overall efficiency and effectiveness and reduce costs.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • A National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) Background Investigation is required.
  • Position requires temporary duty (TDY) business travel approximately 20% of the time.

Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled such as: Provide technical direction and coordination on Travel, Personal Property, Non-Tactical Vehicle, and Freight; applying transportation policies and procedures for shipping; using automated transportation systems to execute the full range of Transportation Services Worldwide. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in accounting, business administration, business or commercial law, commerce, economics, engineering, finance, industrial management, statistics, traffic management, transportation, motor mechanics, or other fields related to the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Manages and Organizes InformationPlanning and EvaluatingProblem SolvingTechnical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
