About the Position: This position is located at the US Army Training Command 128TH Aviation BDE International Military Student Office at Fort Eustis, VA.
This position is a Term position. Army employees who accept a time-limited appointments (to include employees with personal competitive status) will be separated at the end of the time-limited appointment date.
This is an obligated position.
Duties
Create, manage and maintain all International Military Student Office (IMSO) sponsorship programs.
Establish and maintain contact with the cities of Newport News, Hampton, and their respective Chambers of Commerce.
Provide oversight of daily execution of assigned programs.
Recruit Military and DOD Civilian Sponsors from the Academic Departments.
Responsible for assisting in the planning, organizing and executing a variety of official and unofficial social activities for international personnel.
Plan all lodging, meals, transportation for organizations students.
Attend Social functions and has a great deal of contact with people of all Countries.
Serve and set up and refreshments to VIP visitors of all countries who visit the International Military Student Office.
Provide advice/guidance to subordinates on matters pertaining to Field Studies Program and International Military Students.
Act as activity coordinator of Department of Defense Field Studies Program (DODFSP).
Prepare and submit information packets to prospective international students and governments.
Responsible for recruitment and coordination for all speakers.
Position also requires command of the Spanish language. Translation between English and Spanish, both oral and written, is required.
Requirements

- Work will require adjusted tours of duty to accommodate participation in scheduled official functions after duty hours.
- Work will also require extensive overtime and may require stand-by or on-call tours of duty.
- Must possess or obtain and maintain a valid state driver's license, and any installation, DOD and/or Federal license or certification required for vehicle operated.
- Incumbent may be required to perform periodic TDY assignments, e.g., escort duties, liaison visits, on an "as needed basis."
- This position requires a pre-placement medical and annual medical surveillance exam in accordance with Occupational Health requirements.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) develop and provide objectives for a field studies program for International Military Students; 2) develop detailed itineraries for field trips through coordination with multiple agencies; 3) coordinate logistical and financial arrangements for International Military Students field studies to include venue, lodging, and payment; AND 4) communicate to higher headquarters through oral and written presentation. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the second next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
