Duties

Serve as a Well-Being and Quality of Life Specialist for HQs, United States Army, Pacific (USARPAC). Primary advisor to USARPAC leadership and Major Subordinate Commands on Human Services and Well Being Programs. Facilitate the development of effective and coordinated approaches to accomplishing related management functions affecting the work and lives of Soldiers, civilians, retirees, contractors and family members. Provide support to command programs which include but are not limited to Army Family Action Plan, Family Readiness Support Assistance, Senior Spouse Program, Army Substance Abuse, Army Continuing Education, Risk Reduction, and Suicide Prevention. Represent the command in a wide variety of human service areas where there is a shared interest and responsibility between USARPAC and other military commands.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • This position has a temporary duty (TDY) travel requirement up to 15% of the time.

Current Department of Army Civilian Employees Applying on Time-Limited Assignments In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes monitoring human services and well-being programs (Family Readiness Support Assistance, Substance Abuse, Continuing Education, Risk Reduction, Suicide Prevention); and advising on related well-being program policies, procedures, and regulations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Oral CommunicationProgram ManagementTechnical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
