This position is located at the Casa Linda Oaks Golf Course on Naval Air Station Jacksonville, FL. The purpose of this position is to provide and maintain adequate supply of riding carts and range balls during normal operating hours, clean and return golf carts to storage area, restock adequate supply of range balls for the next day use and promote sales of retail merchandise, to collet green fees, and golf carts fees.

Duties

The selected candidate will: Assist customers with green fees, cart fees, retail merchandise, and rental of clubs, lockers and club storage. Ensure the display areas are kept neat and clean. Responsible for end of shift processing, to include counting of shift receipts and preparing Daily Activity Reports (DAR). Ensure compliance with fire, safety, sanitation and security regulations and procedures. Operate computerized point of sale. Use a gas powered mechanical golf ball retriever to pick up golf balls and places golf balls in the range ball dispenser. Retrieve range ball baskets. Pick up range balls by hand that cannot be retrieved by the mechanical golf ball retriever. Clean, stores, and secures golf carts, attaches or removes the battery charger hook-ups as appropriate. change the practice hitting area to a new location daily. Clean the golf ball dispenser and performs preventive maintenance functions such as cleaning the gears, cleaning debris from the inside of the dispenser, and oiling moving parts. Check patrons to ensure they have paid daily green fees. Clean and stocks restrooms and checks sanitation during the shift. Empty trash receptacles and picks up papers, trash and debris around buildings and facilities in order to keep the outside area neat, clean and presentable. Clean and maintains shelters, and drinking fountains on the golf course. Replaces broken lights, paper products, and empties trash cans. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Must meet Federal Employment suitability requirements and successful completion of background investigation. Background investigations are conducted using fingerprint identification and completion of background inquiry forms.
  • Must successfully pass the E-verify employment verification check. Any discrepancies must be resolved as a condition of employment.
  • Must go through a Personal Identity Verification (PIV) process that requires two forms of identification from the Form I-9.
  • May be required to pass pre-employment examinations.
  • Must provide proof of U.S. Citizenship or U.S. National.
  • A valid State driver's license is required to operate motor vehicles.
  • Must have your salary sent to a financial institution of your choice by Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer.
  • Must reside within a 50 miles radius of 32212 at time of applying.
  • Must have current CPR/First Aide certification or be willing to obtain within 90 days of employment.
  • Must be able to withstand extreme temperatures as part of the job is outdoor.

Ability to handle a wide variety of patrons to provide golf related services. Knowledge of computerized point of sale. Experience with a mechanical golf ball retriever and operating golf carts in tight, confined spaces. Must have customer service experience with the ability to deal with a diverse customer base tactfully. Must have a basic knowledge of golf etiquette. Ability to follow oral and/or written instructions. Must have a valid State Driver's License. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience.
