Duties
This Supervisory Marketing Specialist position is located Direct Report (DR), Strategic Communications and Public Affairs (SCPA), Marketing & Branding Division (MBD), Transportation Security Administration, Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Duties include but are not limited to:
Oversees implementation of multiple marketing strategy and brand management efforts including marketing plans, advertising, communications, branding guidance, and speakers' bureau initiatives, as well as support for a wide range of integrated marketing initiatives critical to the TSA PreCheck program.
Directs and provides leadership to the team regarding ongoing marketing collaboration with travel and aviation industry marketing partners, while also overseeing the enforcement of adherence to marketing and branding standards to ensure compliance to marketing requirements and TSA branding guidelines, including TSA PreCheck branding.
Provide direction to marketing specialists to ensure effective and efficient development and implementation of marketing initiatives including advertising, brand management campaigns, surveys, research and analysis of market trends, and partner marketing initiatives and to ensure relevant messages are aligned with marketing and branding.
Exercises the full range of supervisory and personnel management authorities and responsibilities in directing the work of direst report staff. Coordinates and evaluates direct report personnel to assure balanced workload enabling timely responses to assigned actions.
Qualifications
To qualify for the SV-J Pay Band (equivalent to GS-14), you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the SV-I or GS-13 Pay Band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector. Specialized experience is defined as experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position to be filled. Specialize experience is defined as:
Conducted market research to establish effective marketing strategies.
Developing marketing plans, strategic branding initiatives and or communication plans for a program office or organization.
Conducted account management, and or business development initiatives with private sector and or public service.
Credit for experience is given based on a 40-hour workweek. Part-time experience is credited on a part-time ratio, i.e., working 20 hours per week for two months equals one month of experience. No additional credit is given for overtime.
National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
