Duties

This Production Coordinator position is located in the Strategic Communications and Public Affairs, Multimedia Division, TV Studio Branch, Transportation Security Administration, Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Duties include but are not limited to: Coordinates pre-production, production and post-production for major agency videos. Provides expert editing and quality control over written products utilizing knowledge of grammar, punctuation, writing standards, and substantive matters to identify and resolve editorial issues and inconsistencies in content. Represents the Studio in weekly meetings leading up to events, conveying important event info back to the Studio manager and team, and attending leadership and technical walkthroughs as events approaches. Creates project roadmaps and milestones, schedules on-camera interviews with agency leadership and subject matter experts to be used in a variety of video series and products, as well as identifies stories worthy of being developed into video products. Serves as the point of contact to proactively reaches out to subject matter experts for opinions, quotes, guidance and collaboration.

Qualifications

To qualify for the SV-I Pay Band (equivalent to GS-13), you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the SV-H or GS-12 Pay Band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector. Specialized experience is defined as experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position to be filled. Specialize experience is defined as: Directs and facilitates complex production services which aid effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity of program operations and projects throughout a multifaceted video production environment. Oversees the development of communication products ranging from scripts to various electronic media, including video products, livestreaming of events, and other multimedia products. Identifies and develops possible video distribution channels, collaborates with other divisions to create marketing collateral for internal and external audiences. Identifies agency news, events and employees that would make for compelling video stories and develops these products from pre-production through post-production. Leads working groups and manages the planning, estimating, concept development, execution, workflow and delivery of final multimedia products in highly collaborative environment. Credit for experience is given based on a 40-hour workweek. Part-time experience is credited on a part-time ratio, i.e., working 20 hours per week for two months equals one month of experience. No additional credit is given for overtime. National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees. If you are currently, or have been within the last 5 years, a political Schedule A, Schedule C, Non-career SES or Presidential Appointee employee in the Executive Branch, you must disclose this information to the Human Resources Office.
